50mm x 15mm bolt-on dog ID plate, 1.5mm thick

A good quality solid brass dog tag is one of the best ways to identify your dog, our deep mill engraving and black infilled lettering means your dog tag is easily read in the event your dog is lost.

Engraving Studios solid brass pet tags are made from 1.5mm thick polished brass and are engraved in our factory environment before being packaged and delivered directly to you. We include all engraving in our pricing.

On the 50mm x 15mm brass dog ID plate tag we can engrave up to 4 lines of infilled engraving on the tag.

Fitting

Your brass name plate is supplied pre-drilled with two fixings. Mark and punch holes in your head collar to suit the holes in the name plate. Position your collar name plate and fit and tighten the two brass fixings, one from the front - one from the back. Do not over tighten the name plate fixings as they make break under excess strain. Please choose the correct thickness in the dropdown box so we can send the most appropriate length of fixings.

Cleaning & After Care

Engraving Studios name plates are crafted from the finest solid brass, which can be cleaned with a polish specifically for brass, such as "Brasso". The dog ID nameplate should then be wiped with  a damp cloth to remove any excess polish from the infilled lettering, before being buffed with a soft cloth.

Frequently Asked Questions

The control of dogs law order 1992 states; "Subject to paragraph (2), every dog while in a highway or in a place of public resort shall wear a collar with the name and address of the owner inscribed on the collar or on a plate or badge attached to it."

Having your dog's name on their pet tag will enable the finder to refer to the dog by his/her name which has a calming influence. The flipside is that if a person knows your dogs name they could possibly lure the animal away by calling his/her name. Ultimately the decision on whether to have your dogs name shown is entirely personal preference, there is nothing detailed in the control of dogs law order 1992 stipulating a requirement either way.

Categorically NO, we use mechanical engraving machines which cut deeper into the surface than a laser would be able to. This means our engraving can be infilled producing legible and very durable lettering which won't fade or wear away.
